Intimidating
Litening {SS Painted Intimidator x ZBA Flaming
Rose} |
Intimidating
Litening at his ISU graduation day. He's being ridden by his student
trainer, ISU senior Joel who is an animal science major hoping for a
job in the cattle industry. Joel has a little experience training
older horses but Litening was his first green breaking and his
youngest horse ever. Joel came from a stock horse background and has
used ranch horses to work cattle and lead trail rides in the Black
Hills. He focused Litening's training on excellent manners both on
the ground and in the saddle. As you can see, Joel could kneel on
Litening's back with no problem and hook a leg over the horn with no
problem. Joel could rub
Litening's poll, neck and shoulders with his boot. In addition, Joel
had Litening going
both directions at a walk, trot and
canter, and backing willingly and freely. When dismounted,
Litening followed Joel
and cuddled right up, just like the pocket ponies we know these horses
to be.
Before loading Litening to come home, Joel ground-tied him, and picked
up all four feet and
pounded on them
like a farrier. I am extremely pleased with the training Litening
received from this nice young man. This was the first
Arabian/Saddlebred Joel had ever ridden and he was impressed with
Litening's gentle nature, quick learning and flexablity. Litening is
just 2 and a half years old, so Joel was careful not to overwork him.
This horse looks to me like a sold hunter prospect who will also go
western and trail for fun.
And....he's a total pocket pony.
He just loves people and attention.
He's a steal at $7,500.00

| Delikate Thunder
{SS Painted Intimidator x ZA Stolen Thunder} |
This
is Delikate Thunder being ridden by ISU senior Beth. Beth has a lot
of showing experience in the stock horse world and put a really nice
start on Katie using dressage priniciples. As you can see from the
photos, she has Katie nicely on the bit and flexing well at the poll.
Katie like all the Ernie babies has a gentle temperament and Beth said
she was really smart and learned very quickly. Beth said Katie was
quite willing and looked forward to her training sessions. I included
a photo of Katie stepping over nicely in the rear, showing how well
Beth had her engaging her quarters and collecting.
Beth said Katie was walk, trot and cantering both directions, turning
on the fore and rear quarters and side passing. While we watched she
brought Katie down from a strong trot to a nice jog. I think Katie
has the makings of a top western pleasure show horse and will be very
competitive on any level her owner wants to show her. This nice
tempered mare has a real presence and is a big stout horse. She
would also be a hunter and trail horse, but I think her true calling
is western now, and maybe stock horse later.
This one is price to sell at
$10,000.00
